Wendy Marcel
Wendy’s love of salsa started over 18 years ago in South
London. After frequenting a local class, she quickly got the
dancing bug.
Wendy found herself attending regular classes with Richard &
Paul Marcel and very quickly became a competent salsa
dancer. Paul & Wendy hit it off straight away and married in
2008.
With her passion and enthusiasm for Latin dance, Wendy
chose a new career path and started teaching salsa. Wendy is now a full time teacher with SalsaBug teaching all levels from beginners
to advanced.
Wendy was also involved in the Cuban Fury feature movie training Nick
Frost and Chris O’Dowd. She also has a role as a dancer in the finale scene of the
movie dancing with Paul.
Wendy’s bubbly and friendly approach to teaching is an asset to the
SalsaBug team.
Steve Wilkins
Steve started salsa dancing in 1999 after being ‘captivated’ by its
wonderful music and fun dance moves during a visit to a Salsa club
whilst on holiday.
During 2004 Steve discovered the Cuban wheel dance ‘La Rueda’.
As his knowledge of Rueda moves grew he wanted to share
them with others, so in 2006 he started teaching it for SalsaBug.
He comments ‘Rueda is such fun, especially when it goes wrong
and the dancers head off in all directions’
One year later he was also teaching regular Salsa classes and
became an integral part of the SalsaBug Team.
Stuart Mclean
Stuart has been dancing salsa for over twenty years. He originally took it up to meet new people after university and hasn’t looked back since.
Stuart has been teaching the beginners class for SalsaBug for the last four years. He thoroughly enjoys teaching beginners and quotes “Teaching the beginners class is so rewarding. Watching someone progress from having never danced a step to moving with confidence in just a few weeks is a fantastic feeling. I’ve also seen how partner dancing can transform people, giving them more confidence and day to day enjoyment.”
His passion and dedication to Salsa is a great asset to the SalsaBug Team.
