FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q. Do I need to book or can I just turn up?

A. No you don't need to book for most of our classes.  All you need to do is just turn up. We take on new students every week at all of our classes.  However if you are looking at starting one of our courses it is best to contact us first to check availability.

Q. Do I need a partner?

A. No, with our rotation system we regularly change partners, so you will always get a chance to dance with a partner and make new friends along the way.

Q. What time is class?
A. Class times vary at different venues. See Classes for times of your chosen class.

Q. How much does class cost?
A. Prices vary at different venues. See Classes for the right price for your chosen class.

Q. Does it matter if I turn up a few minutes late?
A. No, most Salsa classes run on Latino timing.  This means that they never start on time.  You should aim to arrive at the venue at the advertised time. This should give you about 10 minutes to get a drink and a quick catch up with friends.

Q. What clothing do I need to wear?
A. This varies from person to person. You should wear something comfortable bearing in mind that you may get quite hot. Clothing that restricts movement is also not very practical.

Q. What footwear should I wear?
A. Again anything comfortable. You will be on your feet for at least an hour, maybe more.  If you are not sure on what footwear to wear, then maybe you can bring a spare pair with you to see what suits you best.  A shoe with a heel is advisable for the Latin & Ballroom and Argentine Tango

 Q. Does it matter if I can't make class one week?
A. No, with the beginners group the teacher will always recap the basic moves at the start of each class giving you a chance to catch up. Once you have moved up from the beginners you will have a good knowledge of the basic rhythms and find it relatively easy to catch up.  However, regular attendance is vital for the progress of your dancing.

Q. I can't make it to my usual class, can I come along to one of your other classes?
A. Sure you can.  We run all of our classes to the same high standard.  Just turn up to the venue at the class time that best suits your level.  If you are not sure what level you should be in then speak to your teacher or the teacher at the alternative venue.  You can also contact SalsaBug via the contacts page above.

Q. Can we bring our own drinks?
A. Unfortunately not.  Most of our venues have a bar, so only drinks purchased at the venues are permitted unless otherwise stated.

Q. Is there an age limit to your classes?
A. Generally our classes are for adults, however we do accept older kids. This may vary depending on the venue.  Always call if you are not sure.

Q. Is there sufficient parking?
A. Most of our venues have sufficient parking however it is always best to check first if you are not familiar with the area.
